What the hell is a flying green song-rabbit?!

Grongbit (GReen sONG rabBIT) is the result of our nicknames combined. "Our" meaning the three founding authors. The flying comes from our guest-turned-permanent blogger, Butterfly Coffin.

And yes, rabbits can too fly, sing and be green.

His Story As I Know It

Maybe it's the weather affecting me, or perhaps a strong sense of nostalgia. It could be the fact that I just read some intense blogs or it's 2am in the morning and I can't sleep (I am in bed as I type this). I have many reasons for this post, for example, Marweechi and not to mention others that are still confused. It might be time that I made this official, and of course out in the open for those who never knew.

This will be a text intensive post. I am talking about how Mr. N and I came to be. This is our history as I know it.

I am hard-pressed to call myself saintly; hypocrite might be a better word.

In the beginning, there was a Butterfly and a LyChee.

They came upon a Maple tree that gave them new life and a new form of procrastination, where I eventually joined them and became a beta player in the 2D MMORPG MapleStory on the eve of 2005. Shortly after several months of trying to catch up to the higher levels, the game closed down to be replaced with the official version on May 11, 2005. I was one of the few who made a character that night and did not stop playing for about a year thereafter.

I was a reclusive player, I was normal. I was also obsessed with my personal vendetta *coughcompetitivecough* with Midori's Mr. D. They were not dating then, so I was free to be as big a bitch as I wanted to him :) We raced to be the first of our real life friends to reach level 100, which he won in the end and I was in my 90s. After my reason for playing was gone, I quit. But that hasn't happened yet.

The friends I made in-game I have not forgotten and forged many good friendships and relationships thanks to it. It has also allowed me to be someone I was afraid or too proud to be in reality: nice, diplomatic and just plain sweet (although SOMEONE would say I was a cynical little freak and his name is Tizz). Poon and Tizz from Sydney, and Rob from Canada* I have met in person. I keep in near constant contact with several from the States and a dear friend and mentor who resides in London and will be marrying his longtime girlfriend soon, to the smugness of us all who knew them 3 years ago.

True story.

Anow for a slightly different and more relevant story -_- You must excuse me as I am prone to rating on different tangents.

It was late in the year, Nov-Decish when I did something out of character that carved a new road in my life. I became friends with a Maplebrity whose connections reached far and wide, and enemies even wider. JC made me an administrator in her mage forum, and I began to make a name for myself offline and online.

At the turn of the year, I was offered a place in her guild with then 'famous' bowman Steve, her boyfriend, and eventually was promoted to the highest rank with moderator powers. As an admin, I was also a human resource manager and had the pleasure of accepting and rejecting the resumes of applicants to the ever expanding guild. This gained me much recognition, and a reputation that I upheld quite willingly.(Is it sad that I talk about a game like it's my job? Yes, it is.)

I was probably starved for a bit of fantasy. In the cyber world I could be a part of, I lived as I would have liked to live in real life. I hung out with the right people, I became popular and was well liked. It was thrilling, but also disappointing as I couldn't release my true colours at school because I had already created an unfavourable impression there. People would think I'm flakey if I was so transient.

I met Mr. T from the forum, and Mr. N from the guild as a friend of a good friend, the British one, around January 2006. It was unfortunate that I also met Karina, who would be the source of betrayal and pain for the next few months; in short, she liked T who liked me which I didn't know so I was matchmaking them in the background. It's an Emma Woodhouse moment, and naturally it backfired just as badly with the revelation that I also had feelings for T.

On the side, N became...curious with the strange girl in his guild and began relentlessly harassing the poor thing with personal, deep questions about her skewed and rather interesting, unique view of life. It got to the point where she had to ask Tizz on advice on how to deal with stalkers.

In the end, the lure of T, who was in fact quite famous in his own right and was also on better terms with her, and his faster response to competition allowed him to get the girl before N could even react. The devastation was massive and the guilt, terrible. But what was done, was done.

And then it was TK and Serena.

But not without repurcussions.

I had released my claim on T for Karina for she seemed to like him more than I, and I wasn't really looking for a relationship. However he had no interest in her, and only put up with her depression and whining because he thought she was my friend. Love triangles are lame.

N was upset that he was too slow and too afraid to make a move. He gave up then, but still continued to be a friend. He eventually dabbled in the elite social circle of MapleStory with the highest level characters, and joined them when our guild disbanded and members left.

Anyway.

T and I did not last long, 7 months and 8 days in fact before I called the 'relationship' off. It just didn't work out and it became emotionally unhealthy, for the both of us but particularly me.

I needed a savior and I was given a victim.

I did not need to rescue when I needed rescuing myself. He was not 'there' for me, but instead I had to be there for him, comforting him and soothing him while inside I screamed from the hole I had fallen in long ago. Oh, how morbid! Lighter note!

It took...another half year or so before he got over it. To this day I suspect he is still bitter about it though he claims not to be.

Mr. N took me the way I was anyway, and his feelings have not changed in over a year. That's hard to believe though, considering he lives in America.

This is where I become the biggest hypocrite in the world.

I did say that I would never be involved with someone who did not live within 100km radius. I did say that I judged those who would be stupid enough to commit to an online relationship. I hated N's guts at the beginning, best of all.

Long distance relationships will strain your nerves, break your heart repeatedly and give more doubt to an already insecure person.

After several breakups and getting back together, which I call my "hot n cold" years (listen to Katy Perry's song and you'll understand what I mean, only I'm the guy and he's the girl), we are here. Swallowing my huge pride and becoming vulnerable to someone else, making the move to reject reality and prudence.

Madly in love.

Ever insecure.

Self-conscious.

Seeing each other for the first time. It's kinda fucked up. Really fucked up.

But I'll take it.

* Must read my old blog from xanga to know this.

Yay Post! Damn stuvac!

Today is the first day of procrastination, oops I mean STUVAC! I am lucky this year since I get 2 weeks of stuvac as I don't have any exams on the first week of exams. All my exams are in the 2nd week which also means I finish the latest!!

Since I had no net all last night (phone line died) I slept super early and woke up this morning 12hrs later. My bro was super sick with a 40degree fever and spent most of his day sleeping on the couch. My sister was super jealous as the middle child considering no one took care of her although she's been sick for a week with a nasty cough.

This morning she was pissed she was in my dad's bed rather than my mum although my mum promised to sleep with her last night but my bro got so sick last night my mum didn't bring my sister to her room. She got so pissed she moved herself outside and slept in the lounge outside her room.. We'd recently got new mattresses so the old mattresses were outside.

Sleeping like a hobo:

Rest of the day spent cleaning the floor:

Tidying up my accessories:

I need to find something to hang my chunky necklaces and bangles on =\. This may look messy but it's already super neat all sorted according to size/type of accessory

Yesterday I had my nutrition exam and a lecture and tut but afterwards I met my boy out for lunch. We hadn't properly gone out in ages due to quizzes/groupwork/mismatch of timetables so hadn't seen him in a while like a whole week!!! He was super excited of course...... to go to this Mexican restaurant in Newtown T_T. We walked from Newtown to Guzmen Y Gomei and ordered some corn chips + guacamole and some burritos. I got a beef one cuz I was feeling tired (iron!) and he got a chicken one.

Guacamole!

Corn Chips! They were this funny pale colour dunno how they made it =\

I ordered a wheat tortilla to be healthy XD

Yum yum! From a nutritionist point of view it contains beans and rice which makes up all of your essential amino acids, wheat for all the fibre goodness, vegetables for antioxidants and vitamins and minerals and herbs to help antioxidant absorption. It was $9.90 or $10.00 for a burrito and water or soft drink. Cheap, delicious and filling!

I wanted to have icecream later but my boy was sick so he didn't want anything cold and I decided I didn't want to sit by myself pigging out... plus I was still quite full.

So off onto the train we went to go to townhall so he could buy this book from Kinokuniya.

Look at my pretty rings! I was totally blinged out yesterday with 3 bracelets/bangles as well XD

(OMG I have bags from studying the night before/morning!!! )

Look at this sexy hand =P

Lol this picture is so creepy!

After going to kinokuniya we were stuck on what to do next, not wanting to go home yet I suggested going to lindt cafe to have macarons since Serena mentioned before she was going to work just to eat them later.

Was almost at lindt cafe when I decided to have a look to see if S was still working. We sat waiting for a while until she finished work. I could see my boy was getting more sick and tired as he restlessly read the mX =(

Ta da!! We took forever deciding on which to get!

Mine and the boy's . Clockwise from top right: Pistachio, Hazelnut, passionfruit, 70% dark

Serena's box: Champagne, passionfruit, peach (?), 70% dark, Hazelnut.

Is shy since she said she was having a bad face/hair day -.-

Is not so shy XD
Me: wait dont eat it yet I wanna take a photo!
Him: do you want me in it?

Mmmm yum yum which to choose....

Yum yum hazelnut!

Afterwards we went wondering around the city/QVB looking at stuff while my poor baby looked on restlessly as he became more sick =( Hope he feels better today....

S said I looked old today XD Wearing my mum's shirt =3

Add a coat and walk around in heels all day.... My room's so clean and reflective floor after I cleaned it XD

The other day was shopping with my mum when I saw this beef....

Thinking it was Wagyu, made my mum buy it XD It's Meltique beef XD It tasted alright but so fatty! The plate was coated with like layer of white animal fat and the frying pan all white layer of animal fat.... gross...

Some other random picture of soemthing me and my mum made through her book. Tasted crap looked nice XD

The day Butterfly went to take photos at usyd. I think I am the worst model ever XDDD Afterwards we went to have some student discount pasta in broadway. It was quite yummy and really cheap!

My creamy pasta! I think it's veal? I forgot what I ordered so long ago...

B ordered spiral red pasta I think it was chicken?

Seafood Pizza! I think this whole "Medium" one was only $12/14? Relly yummy too!

Afterwards me and D went wondering around and he went to claim his free slushie with many mixed flavours. I put the dog (from the photoshoot thingo) onto him and he let me take a photo XD The things he puts up with for me >.>

I think this was the thursday before the friday (the day B came to my uni)... yes all my photos are backwards cuz I uploaded them this way...

We went to Sunflower again. It has some pretty good Taiwanese food and some expensive crepes. We got a green tea and red bean shake each. My boy looks so cute!

D's food. Sausage rice. He decided to split the egg to eat and ended up dropping it -.- you're suppose to poke the egg and eat it!

My food! marinaded pork strips this was so tender and yummy!

Still not enough food.... we ordered some Taiwanese dumplings and I managed to finish my share of the dumplings as well as my main dish and the whole drink! Man we are such pigs.

Later we went to Norita (hmm I cant remember if it was the same day now or not but D seems to be wearing the same thing >.> but it seems impossible that we ate so much in one day....)

I ordered some hot chocolate which came with a few biscuits

I think this was taro milk tea

Yum yum fondue! Generous amount and heaps cheaper than Max Brenner at $14 I think it was for this massive plate! But the dipping chocolate wasn't as good =(

We played scrabble and I totally won >.>

Omg dunno if you can see but the Free hugs guy is to the right of the guy in the stripes. I gave him a hug! He gave me another one back cuz I remarked how tall he was so he got down on his knees and gave me another hug!!

I was super shy about going up to him so I sat on those metal poles for ages listening to this violin guy that plays there. It felt so good, sitting there, leaning against my boy, listening to violins and getting free hugs.

Ah life is good.

Until exams hit T_T

Until exams finish cya guys!

Eating Money

So the other night my great-aunt who is my grandma's godson's aunt brought back from Adelaide Japanese dried abalone, soaked in water for 2-3 days then brought to Sydney to be cooked in abalone sauce made by my great-uncle who is a chef/"food teacher" in China.

Gah.

Last night I had salmon sashimi bought from Fish Markets.

Personally, I don't like stewed abalone. I prefer swallow's nest soup with rock sugar.

I Am Trying Not To Neglect This

Good evening ladies and ladies. I've been meaning to blog about this last week, but better late than never. Especially since I'm going to be posting about J's belated birthday 'party', the package that arrived at my door last week and a failed domestic goddess experience.

Clickety clicky.

SO anyway, after work I met up with Minglez and Midori while they were shopping around at Myer, debating over a jacket for Minglez they found in a random rack. Naturally they wanted my opinion as soon as I arrived. Though the jacket was to my taste, we concluded that it just wasn't 'her', and that the dorkier grey one was =p

She bought neither in the end, but she still needed a jacket. Come to think of it, I never asked to see what boots she got...

Anyway we went upstairs to look at more shoes and I had a shocking relevation that I have flat feet (compared to M) and can't wear heels comfortably, while she can! Fmylife! That is SO unfair! I am scarred for life, literally!*

We did not buy any more shoes either and besides, Joshu was already calling us up wondering when we were arriving. We slowly walked to get him cupcakes as his birthday cake, but ended up getting an 85C log cake, much to the chagrin of Minglez who does not like strawberries.

J and his cake. He was not happy that we did this for him despite the smile you see :( He is deceiving!

Photobucket

Not the surprise type. We even got him giant candles! Not impressed.

Photobucket

And then we embarassingly sang 'Happy Birthday' really loudly at the gym. It made it to the front desk and they decided to report it.

Alright, maybe that was reasonable.

Mm cake.

Photobucket

Perfect 5 pieces for 5 people.

And then we 'worked' all the kilojoules off at the gym *cough*. WHat's gym without some fatty food to counter it :)

One Wednesday I got a surprising but not unexpected ring at the door and I had just woken up. Feeling kinda yucky, I had to open the door anyway and voila, it was as I thought it was. After signing my name, I carried the box in with glee.

Photobucket

Oh yes, Freya is just as excited as I am. Boy do I love getting packages, but I really should start waking up earlier so I don't open the door with morning breath and wearing pjs.

Photobucket

She spent the next half hour or so sniffing everything -_-

Opening the box! So happy!!!

A brown dustbag, and I immediately know that this is my mother's bag.

Oooh it was quite lovely to touch, very smooth. And heavy. All the brass hardware sure makes it heavy! Mother didn't like it very much though -_-

I took it out and I was slightly disappointed. But then I fluffed it up into the shape it was supposed to be and now, it is my favouritest bag that I love more than my LV!!! I've been using it for a week now and it still smells FANTASTIC like new, luxe leather. Mmmm...

I do not have a name for it yet! I need to come up with a name.

And it is quite roomy. And soft. And I stroke it everyday. And I loves it. It's a beautiful shade of dark midnight blue that looks black at first. I showed my friend Jasmin on Friday and on Monday she was like "Oh hey, it's blue!". Ahhh Jasmin, a lovely friend and occasional bitch (so she says, but I do not see it). She is nice to talk to and was my partner for advertising.

Anywho! I don't like the way I blog, I feel like I'm all over the place. Am I all over the place? Is it hard to read?

Yesterday I decided to make sticky date pudding with butterscotch sauce. If anyone watches Masterchef Australia, yeah.

Photobucket

Chopped dates in boiling water and a speck of baking soda.

Photobucket

Eggs, sugar, butter, yeah basically the cake.

Photobucket

Mix it all up with dates and in the oven at 180C. Try not to use fan-force, I accidentally had it on high fan and it took 55mins instead of 40mins to cook. I tried to burn it, it didn't burn. Wow.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Making of the butterscotch sauce. It is really sweet and I put less sugar in it as well! Don't do what I did and substitute brown sugar with white: it does NOT taste the same. Get brown sugar.

Photobucket

Looks quite pretty.

Photobucket

Or not.

The top part where it went all crispy was lovely, but as I started eating the bottom I think I added too much water in the dates and it was kinda squishy. Yuck. I threw the rest away. Sad moment.

I had another one today and completely ate all of it. Go figure, maybe I wasn't that hungry last night.

And that is my picture post of the week. That took awhile, but I'm bored right now. I'm going to read Twilight now (blah, but entertaining nonetheless).

*Scars are from the permanent marks blisters have made at the back of my feet.
